Raggiana bird of paradise (Paradisaea Raggiana)

The Raggiana bird of paradise is also known with Count Raggi’s bird of paradise.

This bird is called Cendrawasih. They live in Irian island. It has 34 cm of height, red brown fur and brown grey legs. The male has yellow crown, and the female doesn’t have colorful fur. The color of their wings is various, depends on the subspecies.

 Astrapia Ribbon-tailed (Astrapia mayeri)

This one of the Spectacular species of Cendrawasih. They have the longest tail (in comparation with their body is 3 times longer). For Male, it has 1 m of tail and black fur. And for female, the fur is brown. The height of their body is about 32 cm, and we can find them in center of Irian island.  

 Blue bird of paradise (Paradisaea rudolphi)

The name of this bird reminds us about one of the biggest taxi in Indonesia. This bird has 30 cm long, black fur, dark brown iris, grey legs. The male has violet wing fur and also called Blue Cendrawasih. Their population is in Papua Nugini. 

 Riflebird Paradise (Ptiloris paradiseus)

If u ever see Planet Earth movie, you can see this bird in it. This bird has 30 cm long. The male has black fur and blue green crown. The female has zaitun brown fur. Population of this bird is in East Australia, and also New South Wales forest and Center of Queensland

 

Red bird of paradise (Paradisaea rubra)

We called it Red Cendrawasih, with its long is about 33 cm in yellow and brown fur. The male has 72 cm long in red fur and a little white in its stomach. It has two black tails. Female is smaller than male, and doesn’t have colorful fur. Its very special from Indonesia, and only can found in Waigeo and Batanta Forest, Raja Ampat, West Irian Jaya.

Lawes’s Parotia (Parotia Lawesii)

It has 27cm long, live in east Papua Nugini. Male has black fur, colorful neck, and golden chest. They have three kind of crowns. The female has brown head and dark iris.

King of Saxony bird of paradise (Pteridophora alberti)

 Its one of small twitter bird, with 22cm long. The male has black and dark yellow fur, two blue crowns for almost 40cm long. It called Panji Cendrawasih. The female has brown grey fur without any crowns. The population is in Irian forest.
